FUTURE VISION
In 2012 the Future Vision Centre was set up in Mzimba in partnership with MANERELA+.
Above all, we have fun at Future Vision. We bring fun, laughter and games wherever we go!
We train young people from Mzimba so they feel confident in leading activities at the Future Vision Centre. Youth from the local area have come together to form a committee who help run programmes and fundraise for Future Vision.
The young people we train to become leaders are encouraged to pass on their knowledge tro create a training cycle and keep Future Vision alive!
Future Vision promotes voluntary counselling and testing for everyone who is at risk from HIV...which means everyone!
Future Vision recognises the importance of mental health and runs activities which help support children and young people emotionally. Living in extreme poverty or coping with issues related to HIV/AIDS can be difficult...we like to lighten the load and remember loved ones.
Future Vision members interact with adult support groups run by MANERELA+ to help locals living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. There have been some amazing life stories shared here, and the kids at Future Vision are so much happier if their parents are supported in the right way.
We promote and facilitate the sharing of life skills and professional skills that can help improve livelihoods in Malawi. This picture shows some talented tailors in Kasomba who taught us how they create an income to support local families affected by HIV.
Eating the right thing and keeping your strength up is important for all families, but especially for those who have HIV. Future Vision incorporates healthy living and promotes community gardens and permaculture.
Future Vision works with MANERELA+ to develop income generating activities and savings with local support groups, like cooking, gardening and market sales.
Future Vision endorses the 'SAVE' model developed by MANERELA+ in the fight against HIV/AIDS. It stands for 'Safer practices, Availability of medication, Voluntary counselling and testing and Empowerment'.
Future Vision relies soley on local volunteers. We train young people to run activities and engage with children and promote volunteering across the region of Mzimba and beyond.
